It's quite a bit of money to be uncertain. A pic would certainly be nice or even a description from the company.
I wonder if it's just the electric motor.
This is what you actually need to be sure everything is new. This doesnt have the motor attached though. See how the plastic tube at the bottom left is separated from the housing? That's what happened to mine and allowed it to bind up and go very slow
It might be worth trying a new motor. The driver window on my 2 door went out after intermittently failing, I searched everywhere for a regulator and came up empty handed. I replaced the motor and thanked the Jeep gods that that was my problem. The motor for the 2 door is the same as the front motor from a 4 door.
i also came across this video on YouTube when I was searching for fixes, seemed pretty helpful:
Wow that looks complicated lol. I actually decided to send my reg off to have it rebuilt. The reviews for the company were very good. I should have it back within a week. Wish me luck!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay. I just got around to pulling the regulator and sending it in to the company that rebuilds these. Just got my part back today and it's working beautifully! It looks like they also did some kind of metal braiding around the plastic tubing to reinforce it. I'm very happy with the service!

It's good to keep two Jeeps of same model, one to work on and drive when needed and another for spare parts eh?
Kind of like my 89 & 90 XJ's
The rust free $200 89 XJ was meant to be a spare parts source and was parked in my garage for 15 years, but then the 90 XJ got rear ended and their roles were reversed!
I went though a similar experience trying to track down new Mechanical Regulators for my XJ. I repaired my own, but, does anyone know if new "Mechanical" regulators are available for, say, an 87 (front drivers)? Not trying to hijack this thread, just curious while people are on the subject of window regulators.
OP - Glad you got yours repaired. Thanks for showing the pics!
