sweet, take that 35 and put it under the trailer.
the comanche is a spring under axle, so you'd have to weld new perches on the top to put it in your xj. but that's easy enough. i can't remember off hand, but i think the shock mounts need to be moved also.

alloy is just a mix of metals. chromium and molybdenum is an alloy.

i had a d35 in my old jeep on 31" swamper wheeled the **** out of it and beat the ever living **** out of it and that 35 never even made a peep
also, bought the jeep with 136k, sold it with 210k and every mile in between was hard wheeling in the woods bouncing off stuff and lots o wheel spin, the 35 did its job

So much hostility over one simple question. For free I would snag it, not to use but to sell and make some quick cash off of. Some kid would probly buy that turd for 300$

You also said alloys and chrome-molys were the same thing. While chromos might be and alloy shafts for semi float axles sold as alloy shafts are not chromos. People use the term chrome-moly to describe any aftermarket shaft that is stronger than stock but few are actually chrome-moly. Kinda like all sodas around here are called Coke. Just because people call it that doesn't mean it's right.
