Not recommended but it worked fine. I did change the engine oil as it appeared a little murky at the conclusion of the test. I often wonder if it woulda been fine if I'd waited to inspect it the following day.

I used the green cup........

No I think you did the right thing changing the oil after that much water ran through it on a high mileage engine, some had to get into the oil.

i just got done water boarding my jeep. It made a difference in the throttle response and the idle. I used about 10 oz. of water for this run on my way home i'm going to do it again when I have a little more time and run about 20 oz. in there.

Did this with the '01 com Inez with running a few bottles of techron over the coarse of a few weeks and spark knock completely went away. Was t even able to run it on 89 octane it was so bad. Running it on 87 again now with no issues. I actually used the garden hose with a spray nozzle. Just sprayed it lightly until idle dropped. Did this for about a half hour.

Ever verify those results like xjwonders did?

The only positive result was the store got your money!!!!!

The negative results were your neighbors choking on the smoke and fumes from the seafoam incompletely burning.......
yes i was able to tell the difference. I just won't put water into internals of my engine. I know that old school mechanics do have tricks for repairs that do work, me personally i'll stick with what's worked for me. Also all the smoke (black) is from the carbon that was cleaned. To each there own right?

Boy, have you driven home my point.

You SAW Seafoam burning, not carbon coming out.
When water is used there's hardly any "smoke"..... It's steam and carbon BTW. What's that tell us?

You haven't seen before and after photos like XJWonders has provided. You FEEL it worked but have no evidence to prove Seafoam cleaned out your combustion chamber. The "smoke" illusion fooled you just as the Seafoam folks had hoped.

Correct, to each their own, but facts are facts. You're basing what you experienced on feelings and emotions driven by a company's marketing hype. And on top of that you're trying to share it with folks who know better.

I'm not trying to step into this and say I'm an expert and know better than anyone else, because I'm still a total newb finding my way. However, this guy made a video with evidence that Seafoam works:

Again, I'm not trying to be the know-it-all and say Seafoam is the best or better than water for decarbonizing an engine or anything of that sort. I'm saying it is not totally useless. If someone already has a can of Seafoam in their garage they can go ahead and use it. My .02

Seapuke.

I ran a can of that crap through my son's girlfriend's Escort and it immediately triggered an O2S fault. Had to rev the chit out of the engine to burn the Seapuke off the O2S.

I wonder how beer would work....

seafoam does clean well and cut crud. it can be seen first hand when soaking parts in it. I started using e85 instead and I think it works as well or better.

the water trick is old school. I changed my plugs, oil, and o2 sensor after drowning the jeep. to be fair, I was very hard on it. sustained 4500 rpm then sprayed the garden hose until the engine bogged down to 2500-3000 rpm. I'd guess I did that for 30 seconds at a time for close to 5 minutes. I did this 70k miles ago (203k on it now) and I wouldn't be afraid to do it again. every used car I buy gets that treatment. it works well. nothing works better short of nitrous oxide.

disclaimer: I've literally been dealing with engines since I could walk. torturing, repairing, breaking, building, rebuilding etc. suffice to say I have a fair idea of how they work and what can and can't be done.

I just ran 32 oz of water through my throttle body today. It didn't take long and I was amazed at how that 4.0 kept chugging as it drank. That is one stout motor. Although..... Cruiser...... It did sound a little like a tractor motor at one point....

Noticeably better throttle response. I'm changing the exhaust manifold on Monday. Hope to see shiny ports and cylinders when it comes apart.
