easy way is with the u-joint press. it's like a big c clamp.
take the wheel off, then the brake caliper, hub nut (36mm), 3 x 13mm 12pt bolts holding the hub unit on, then pull out the shaft and knock out the c clips that are holding the u-joint caps in. (they're tucked inside the u-joints up against the ears), then using the press, just press them out.
i always take a center punch and punch a mark on both sides of the joint so the shaft and stub shaft go back together the same way.
the trick to taking the hub off, is leave the 2 bottom 12pt bolts in the hub a few threads, then with the ratchet and 13mm (or 1/2 inch) 12pt socket, leave it on the bolt and turn the steering wheel until the ratchet comes into contact with the c-knuckle, then turn the steering wheel with a bit of force to "pop" the hub off. you may need to muscle it a bit, but it works every time.
then just put everything back together using new cotter pins and 12pt bolts torqued to 75f/lbs and the 36mm hub nut to 150ft/lbs.
use copious amounts of anti-seize when putting it all back together.
