Default Clicking noise??

Recently I have noticed a slight but distinct clicking noise coming from the engine while it is running. When it was idling, I tried restarting the jeep and it seemed to go away...since then, I have heard it while the jeep is in drive. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...Thanks for any help.

Can you take a video of the noise?

Fuel injectors make a clicking noise, which is normal and can sometimes be quite loud. Sticking lifters can also make some ticking noise.

There is also a valve in there, on the passenger side, that ticks on and off. It is the Vapor canister Purge control valve.

If its an auto it could be the torque converter bolts backing out.

May have been that Spoonman from Soundgarden hanging out in the engine bay playing his spoons..

assuming your Jeep has a distributor, take a quick peek at the contacts inside and see if there is any uneven wear.. Indicates distributor bearing wobble...
