Default Clutch engagment point changed

I have a 1998 2wd, 4.0L, 5 speed manual. The clutch petal has always been really stiff with an engagement point near the top. A few weeks ago while pushing the clutch in I heard a clunk sound from in front of me and the clutch feeling got much lighter. Not much else changed so I have been keeping an eye on it. Within the last few days my clutch engagement point has moved from the top to down almost on the floor.

Did my clutch master cylinder go out? If so, what is a good one to get? Any how-to's? Should I replace the slave cylinder at the same time? Best place to get one?

If you replace the master you might as well replace the slave.
Get it from the dealer is my best choice cause it comes as a whole unit and it's prebled.
So you just bolt it in and go.

X2 what dan said, the dealer assembly is only like $30-40 than getting the master and slave at the parts store. Bleeding the system is a pita on these.

Normally when a clutch is new the engagement point is near the floor, and as it wears it will come up towards the top, yours is doing something strange.

Would you have the part number readily available? An idea of the cost?
