The pic you posted looks like the connector for the ISS/OSS. It should be Black on all model years. The Gray connector is for the NSS. Make sure you match up the connectors properly (hard to phuc them up actually) and get the wire color codes matched up properly.

The local parts pukes won't have the connectors you need. Go to a junkyard and cut out what you need. Just get the connectors from a '98+ XJ, and that there's plenty of wire lengths to go with it.

I hate but splices. They should be soldered, but it would be very, very, hard to solder splices in the confinded area of the 'Stick'.

I want to puke looking at those pics.

Do you think this may be your problem?

ill be finding out if thats the problem real soon and ill let you guys know, now i just need to find a junk yard that has some jeeps witch is hard to come by in the IE ive been to lots an rarely come across them , thanks for all your guys help on pointing me the right way . id also like to find out how i put a pic of my jeep where my user name is but like before i cant figure it out

Click "User CP" select "edit Avatar". Photo can't be larger than 100 x 100 tho. If you are using XP just right click on your picture select "resize picture" & "advanced" finally type 100 x 100, then upload.
