Exactly.

I never said they were 31's and as far as my statement not being true about running 31's with the right trimming you absolutely can. My buddy in aguanga done it on his jeep though he does not do any off-road because he will rub way too much. As far as the back he may have a shackle though.

A few pics that may help.

93 will be fine with a 3" lift kit. i have a 93 with a 4.5 lift no sye no driveline vibes no problems. it depends on the year of your jeep. older jeeps respond better to lifts. youll be fine with 3" and 31's. you could put 33's on it stock with the right backspacing trimming and bumpstops if you really wanted.

Here is what I did on my last cherokee. It was a 2001, I put a 3" lift on it. that was 3" coils in the front and add a leaf in the rear. Also put a trac bar relocation bracket on it. I ran 31X10.50's no problem with that setup. Then I added 2"coil spacers to the front, 2" shackles to the rear, a drop pitman arm, and just removed my swaybar altogether. I did not have a SYE or a T-case lowering kit, and I got a little drive train vibration, but nothing I couldn't live with. As far as tires, I figured if I lifted it the additional 2" I should be able to go from a 31"to a 32" tire with no problem. Wrong!! I had 32x11.50's on 10" rims (yes I went with 10" anticipating eventually going to a wider tire) with 3.25" backspacing. First time I took it offroad, I cut a tire, but lickily just the tread. So I cut the fenders. After some trial and error, I eventually cut the fenders from the turn signal in the front, up all the way to the crease on the quarter panel, and all the way back to the firewall, and then smoothed it out. I added Rusty's flares, (a lot cheaper then Bushwackers) and I never had a problem after that. The rear tires were fine. Don't know if this helps, I will try to find some pictures of that jeep for you.
