Color matching C3 Mist Gray

Color matching C3 Mist Gray
I have some door panels for a 97 XJ that are badly faded up top and need some love.
Does anyone here happen to know what the closest match is for Mist Gray, other than a dealer? I have tried parts stores and home centers using an unfaded piece of trim, but nothing seems to match this particular shade as every cap i compare it with is either way too dark, or way too light. Why is this such a difficult color to match??? I came across the brand ColorBond, who carries Light Mist Gray CBD-164, and Medium Mist Gray CBD-165, but cant find anyone who has used those exact colors. Has anyone used either of them? Which one is closer to the factory Mist Gray for a 97 XJ? I can only assume Light Mist Gray is what i need.
During my search, i also came across an old thread on another site asking about Mist Gray. Another member said SEM #4940. They never gave the color name, unless that IS Mist Gray? So i googled that number. It does not seem to exist. Google keeps taking me back to that same site. Bing cant even find that. Nothing pops up on ebay or Amazon either. I tried the SEM paint charts online and i have yet to find a good match. Why is this color so blasted difficult??? I refuse to believe that the dealer is the ONLY place i can get this stuff.
BTW, i am trying to limit this to paints meant for plastics. Also, this is for a Manual window door panel, so grabbing another at the yard is not an option.
