Default Color question

Hi,
I have the following problem. I would like to mix some original paint to repaint the bumper. However, I can not find the color code anywhere. Does anyone know by chance what the color on the photo is called, or knows the color code?

Its a 2000 XJ 2,5 VM Diesel 60th Years Editon

Thank you!

In US versions there is a white sticker on the driver's front door jamb that should list the color code. My black '00 is PX8.

On a side note I would like to see some shots of your interior.

I think it's called patriot blue metallic. It looks like my 96 in that color anyway.

on my XJs their is a stamped plate under the bonnet with rows of letters & numbers. This identifies body & interior colors, and many other things

I got the method of decyphering that plate of this forum somewhere

Dash, seats, rear seats if you have headrests in them. Maybe a shot of the console and cargo area too. Kinda turning my '00 into a Limited, Up Country, European Orvis clone. Like the see the interior of the European version XJ's. You being in Germany and seeing the side markers on your front fenders clues me in that you have a European Version. Well that and the fact you stated you had a diesel. LOL.

Hi mate..I have 3 X '96

2 are Sports models, one has a leather interior

The other is a Limited, which has Blue Leather, an overhead Console, and alloy front bar. I would mind moving this stuff across to my cloth Sports, which also has tatty carpets

how easy is it to move the overhead console & wiring across??

I am in Australia

might start a separate thread later with questions and pics etc

Not that bad. Plug and play for the most part. Depending on the year could literal be plug and play. I put a '99 overhead in my '00. Dome light harness will have to be swapped for the overhead console harness. Had to repin one connector for that harness down in the footwell area and use the vanity visors from the '99. Easiest to remove the headliner to run the wiring IMO. The headliners are different to the extent that they have more openings. Could just cut them in the dome light headliner if you wanted to though. Wiring for the ambient temp sensor will be up front just going to need the little harness and the temp sensor from the donor Jeep. Let me know what years you are dealing with and I can probably be more precise. Started a write up here that I have yet to finish.

thanks for that,

the '96 are "pre-updates" so different from the '97 on

however, my Limited is only 59 digits off in VIN from the Sport, so if anything going to be plug & play, this should be

the Limited have fancy door cards with timber inlays as well, and power seats

They are both color PW1 stone white

I have no experience with the '96 and down overheads but lots of guys do it. As I said should be pretty much plug and play. Especially with them being so close in VIN wise.
