computer keeps reading o2 sensor. swapped out twice. rough idle getting worst. help.

And actually, simply replacing fuses and relays can be an effective method of troubleshooting (AKA "The Smoke Test").

Although the sensors operate the same, there are physical differences, due to the environment that they operate in, that keep them from being interchangeable.

i think i was getting lost in the sauce and following the wrong wires. this diagram makes much clearer where i should be looking at. thanks for that. will post update once. apologies for the little knowledge and constant back and forth.
