Look under the dashboard, near where your right knee would be. You should see a flarge flattish silver (made from aluminum) box with a big plug and a mess of wiring going into it - that's what you're looking for.
Why for do you want to know? Having problems?

It sounds like either the crank sensor or the coil.
Do you have a test-light and a helper to spin the engine?
Wait for it to not-start. Pull the coil wire from the dist cap and see if you have spark.
If you don't have spark, hook the test light to ground and check for power at the (+) side of the coil. If you have power, next we check trigger.
Hook the test light to the positive post and check for ground-trigger at the (-) side of the coil.
If you have power and trigger, but no spark... replace the coil.

Take a hair dryer out. Start with the hood open, and heat suspect components with the hair dryer on high.
Intermittent electronic failures are often heat-related, and the ability to spot-heat various components helps to isolate them. Spot-heating is easier than spot-cooling, since most people can't get access to "freeze spray" unless they have an electronics tech vendor handy.
