Yea im not worried about people sayin anything to change my mind its already set with all the parts ready... Just need to get to the shop to getter done. Ima do the 2.25 with cats to preserve back pressure but the least the better... There will be a crossover (h-pipe) And would be set right after the tranny mount. Beneath the driveshaft..
The only clearance problem i see is the ebrake cable.. Which can be moved and mounted in the driveshaft bezel.. That will give even pressure for the ebrake as it will be centered...
Also long tube headers will help with torgue at lower rpms..

I do not have such a set up. I do not see the benefits on a stock engine.
However, here is a picture of a set of dual headers... seeing as how both pipes are so close to each other there shouldn't be any problem putting an H or even an X crossover.. of course this all depends on how the pipe is run once it is under the vehicle. If they are run next to each other all the back it would be best. However if they split right after leaving the engine then there may be clearance issues.
I agree there isn't much room under the XJ for duals, but with the pipes so close to each other I don't see it as a big problem to run a crossover.

i know you guys dont think there is much room under our xjs, but you would be suprised how much room the actually is.. I guess for you do really know how i want it to be done you will have to crawl under yours.. just to look and see..
I am splitting the pipes about a foot or less after the headers.. one down each side.. with 2 1/4" piping i dont see any clearance issues other than the normal driver side rear shock getting in the way.. but im going to avoid that for now with a turn down.. the ebrake bracket is in the way on the drivers side but that can easily be fixed.. the mufflrs wont be mounted in flat, they will be slightly angle to provide better clearance for future routing out the back.. as stated before the h pipe will be placed right after the transmission mount.. underneath the tail of the tranny.
It seems hard to picture and when i get a chance i will provide pictures with i guess a diagram of how it should look when completed..

waiting on my check, i get paid by monthly, which sucks so since this week ends on the 31 i have to wait till monday night to get it.. But everything else is ready to go, i have to o2 sensors reading, a/f gauges are mounted and wired just need the signal from o2's... Ima have to disco my ebrake temperarly to fit the exhaust...
Since then have installed new door panels, and re did my audio system... also installed new black carpet, and switch panel..
one more week and ill finally have this done, ive been with open down pipe for a while, but thankfully its not my DD..

Like your heater bypass, and eliminated A/C but dude, do something with those ignition wires. (LOL) Sounds kinda NASCAR off idle.
