Exclamation converting xj classic fender to xj sport

im replacing a front fender bc i got in a wreak. i got all my parts from a parted out cherokee classic. The fenders on the classic have medal, one piece fender flares. But my cherokee sport has the plastic clip on fender flares. How can i modify the xj classic fenders flares so i can attach my plastic fender flares to the xj classic fender?

You must be new to this. That's retarded.

A cherokee fender is a cherokee fender. They're all the same, maybe with different trim, and the flares changed in 95 to be wider up front of the flare, but all fenders are meTal, and all flares are plastic and are NOT clip-on.

97 and newer are the same material, slightly different design.

I think the newer one do actually "clip on". The fenders are different between the older '96 and the new ones that came out in '97 so I wouldn't swap between those years because the top of the fender is shaped different. But if your new "sport" fender is from a '97 or newer then it should bolt right up with all the same hardware.

Maybe taking a pic of what you're having trouble with will help us help you.

The newer ones do clip on. To metal strips that bolt on just like the 96 and older ones.

Either way, it sounds like he's putting the wrong parts on it.

Then it's either an aftermarket flare or you have one painted one and one textured/non-painted.

If its not a factory flare then you may have to show us a pic so we know what we're talking about
