Default Coolant leak unknown

Alrighty not a mechanic just tinker to learn.

So the other day I noticed a puddle of coolant by the drivers side wheel, looked for leaks listened, started shut off couldn't find the leak. Pulled radiator cap off coolant was full although kinda dirty.

Checked reservoir tank and it was almost empty. Filled it up a little to much and then went to lowes. While there I noticed some drops, opened the hood and couldn't see any leaks. As I was shutting the hood I looked just behind the latch on the hood and it was all wet. And then I noticed some droplets around my front valve cover grommet. So am I crazy or is the my culprit?

its hard to somtimes determine small leaks even bigger ones with-out the right tools what i would recc. is to ether buy a coolant pressure tester or rent one from your local part store that way you can rule out the guess work and find the real problem.

I would check your water pumps weep hole. This is an early sign of water pump failure.
