need to describe your symtoms. The coolant temp sensor is on the driver side at the back of the head on top. There is a single wire going to it. You simply screw it out and screw another one in to replace. I wouldnt even drain the coolant. Just make sure you have the other on in hand ready to screw in and it should be an easy replacement. You would test with an ohm meter and watch it change as the engine warms up or cools down. I dont have the factory specs. However, before you do anything, see if the wire on top is loose. On mine I had to take a pair of pliers and tighten the fitting up. Its just an interfearance fit and its get loose over time. Tightend mine and it works well now.

Sender for gauge is on back of head. Sensor for fan is on driver sire radiator. Coolant/knock sensor is on lower block drivers side....
