Looks a little beat up. Definitely fixable though. Not only is that bumper messed up but looks like the grill is cracked too. Might be some damage to the front clip itself. Really gotta be careful with cars that have damage like that

I see by just the pictures
bumper with end caps and brackets
Header panel with all the jewelery (grill, headlight bezels, etc)
Right fender
condenser
radiator (maybe if tweaked)
Maybe some core support work (without looking at it)
If you wanna find the parts local try
Www.Car-part.com
good site to see what yards around you have and get some prices to work with the price.

Just the way it's all smashed in looks like maybe some frame damage. Anyways, if no frame damage then basically what the guy above me said.

It don't look too bad. The pass bumper bracket crunched in and down, driver went up and in. It really easy fix nothin a trip or two to the junk yard and a weekend to get everything align right.

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't actually looked at it yet, in fact wasn't thinking I would be ready to buy for a couple months yet(need to raise more cash. don't want to dip into the reserve) but the owner seems pretty motivated to sell. hes posted it everyday this week and says he needs to move off island. He's asking $2300, I'm thinking $1500 if it runs well and if the front end repairs stay in the $500-$800 range. But I'm not a mechanic and I'm worried about what I cant see here, in terms of damage to the frame.

It should even be that much id say 200 max but then again you never know what you'll find till you look it over. I'm also a builder my girlfriends was way worse then that the unbody bracket buckled about 6-7 inches in had to pull it straight and weld it back up, then reinforce the tabs if you look in my pic you'll see how bad it was.

That passenger side fender is buckled at the door, I would make sure it doesn't interfere with it opening and make sure that there's not any damage to the unibody.

That Jeep took a heck of a lick. I'd be very surprised if the unibody didn't get bent.
Since you have a seller on a timetable, take a risk and offer $1500 cash right now.
If he doesn't bite, walk away.

The damage doesn't look that bad, I've bought xj's with much worse front end damage. The price on the other hand is way off. I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it.

I paid 300 for a new header panel/headlight bezels, freshly painted. Fender was 75, used from ebay. Opted for a prerunner bumper from this forum about $500 there.
I have a 2001 though.
Endcaps and flares aren't necessary.
Look at that corner of the frame. It may be slightly bent. Make sure all factory bolts/holes are accessible. If everything has moved less than an inch, I'd say no worries.
My girl wrecked my jeep into a guard rail, so my repair was much, much more extensive.
Of course, if you want a new prerunner bumper - let the guy you're buying it from know that your cost to repair is approaching $1000

Wow, thanks for all the feed back. this forum is a loquacious one (my $5.00 word of the day) I'm liking it!
I opted to let this one go. looks like to more trouble then its worth and the owner seems less then honest as I found a post from a month back claiming he was leaving in a week.
I'll just continue to window shop for a bit till I find the deal I want. And in the interim ill shoot the shizzle in here with yall from time to time.
thanks again!
