Could this be done to a TB?
I really want to order a 63mm bored throttle body from Leigh, however the funds do not exactly agree with me right now. However, until then, I want to spruce up the engine bay. I am swapping my header soon, and I wanted to ask if it would be possible to carefully spray paint my stock TB with Rust-o-leum 2000*F paint until I can afford one of the powder coated ones from Leigh. Will the paint melt or screw up anything? Thanks everyone.

Won't hurt a thing you just have to make sure to tape off anywhere there shouldn't be paint like where the crank for the butterfly valve enters the TB housing and where the IAC and throttle body meet.

What color? Different colors will add horsepower. Yellow will give you about another 30HP, red is good for 17HP, black will only net you about 8HP, but neon green is the winner with a 60HP gain over a stock unpainted throttle body! But if you use all of those colors at the same time you will make 115 extra HP!

my TB is beyond the point of looking good but a little paint makes all the difference under the hood when i got my jeep its was all kinds of nasty so i painted the valve cover black w/chrysler blue stripes to match the block and then when i did my header i painted the heat shield the bolts on top of the intake manifold black and started out just cleaning up the PS bracket but got a little carried away with my brand new die grinder and fully polished the thing so its pretty fancy under there now
