Got a 99 Cherokee sport 4wd 4.0 not starting just put new head gasket on it ran fine for a day punched it a little shut offwon't start. Had low fuel pressure replaced pum and regulator filter got 50psi on turning the key to on got a p1694 code and a p0122 did resistance check on injecors all were good. And set up noid light on injector wiring all good. New plugs cap rotor and cam position sensor.

Welccome on the forum.
Regarding the title of your thread: is it the question wether it could be the CPS? Well, yes that can cause a no start condition.
However, no starts have usually three causes: no fuel (yours looks ok), no spark (next thin to check) or air/fuel mix issues or compression (let likely).
The codes you puled, what are they?
Does it start in neutral or park? Does wiggling the lever make it start again? (both possible NSS issues).
check this and check for spark and let us know. The CPS is def on the list.

Tried it in neutral still won't start tries wiggling it still nothing. Did a compression test first and second were around 100 then hide started leaking gonna buy a new one today and check that again. With it broke they were all getting around 50 even 1 and 2 with the broken gauge

Unplug the CPS and check the sensor itself by ohming it out.

TESTING PROCEDURE 1991 – 2001 4.0L H.O. engines
1. Near the rear of intake manifold, disconnect sensor pigtail harness connector from main wiring harness.
2. Place an ohmmeter across terminals B and C (SEE Image). Ohmmeter should be set to 1K-to-1OK scale for this test.
3. The meter reading should be open (infinite resistance). Replace sensor if a low resistance is indicated.

I am also getting spark. After I did the head gasket off roared it in the back yard for over a month and it ran fine. Then first day with plates on pavement it broke down. Pulled timing cover chain does have a little slack but marks are still lining up. Distriputer is still spining. Did ohms check on cps that came back fine. The codes are tps low voltage and communcation error with computer
