Crank No Start Has fuel and fire
Been searching the forums and I am still stumped.
Got into my XJ the other day and it started just fine. I was getting ready to put it in gear and noticed it died. After that it would crank but not start. Had to drive the other jeep to work.
So far it is still not starting. I have replaced the crank position sensor, distributor cap and bug, and plug wires. It is getting fuel (verified when it sprayed me through the valve). Getting spark from the coil. One thing I am not sure of when I was verifying the spark I did have a hold of the screwdriver and it did shock me but not bad at all. If I get shocked is it something that will make me curse? I am not sure where to go next.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, checking the schrader valve for spray isn't a great test for proper fuel pressure. It is in your best interest to measure the fuel pressure if you can. Can save you a lot of trouble and money if that ends up being the culprit.
The amount you got shocked on a single test won't say much, there are too many variables (what the screw driver is made of, how it was held, what you were touching at the time, etc). If you have doubts do the test again, and ensure that the spark only goes form the coil lead to a good ground and visually note the quality of the spark (bright blue, sharp).
Have you tried feathering the gas pedal while starting to see if there is a difference in behavior? (feathering = just a small amount)

Yes, the Schrader valve test says you have fuel, but it doesn't say how much. If you have, say, 20- 30 PSI, it's going to spray, but you aren't going anywhere.

Yes I have tried feathering the gas and no change. I guess I can go to the auto parts store to rent a tool to measure the gas pressure. I’ll keep pecking at it. Thanks guys,
