Yeah, 87 is the "normally open" contact and only connects with the relay energized. 87A is normally closed until the relay energizes and then opens.

JB Weld? It should snap into place once you push it in far enough. Is the socket/plug broken?

So 87A doesn't have a terminal at all. Only 4 of 5 had wires/terminals so hopefully it will work. It should since it didn't have a terminal to begin with. Looking at the terminal blade on the relay for 87A I could see that it never was inserted into a metal plug.

Either the socket or the plug is broken. It wouldn't snap in. I really only need to hold it while I insert the relay, but I thought if I have to remove and replace the relay in the future, having it firmly in place would be nice.

Follow up. After letting the JB Weld sit for 24 hours, I put everything back together and it fired right up! It's putting out 13.5- 14v according to the gauge at idle and everything seems to be working fine.

Not sure if it's my mind or if the cables help it start better. It sure seemed like it fired up much faster than in the past.

Thanks all for the help, I do appreciate and if we were neighbors, I'd buy you a beer or a cup of coffee!

Talking about the PDC, let's do a test there:

Trans in Park
Remove the ASD relay
Verify where relay pins 30 and 87 would go into (the so-called terminals)
Put the ignition key to RUN (not start)
Jump terminal 30 and 87

Does it crank now?
Sorry it should have said Starter relay, not ASD.

Just read through my 10p thread again below which has been a good exercise in electrical diagnostics and relay testing...
