crank sensor problems
I have a 97 cherokee country and a code came up for the cps I cleared the code and it never came back on. Now recently I had the problem with my drive line eating the o2 sensor wiring I replaced that and cleared the codes and noticed that the cps code wasn't there but my Jeep bogs down after I start it and start driving it sometimes makes a clunk noise and then it runs fine I was wondering what that clunk noise is and if it has to do with the cps?

Howdy speedy. Others here know your jeep better than me. Filling out your info might help more of them chime in. All I got is check that CPS plug..easy.
If you clarify "bogging" might help someone. In any case a "clunk" normally involves play somewhere. Only because of that CPS code, I might start by seeing the engine to transmission bolts are snug!

Sounds like you have a few different problems.
Normally a bad CPS won't show symptoms until all power to the XJ goes off. Or you're unable to start it after the engine has warmed up.

thanks
Of course I would figure it out after I post something and it was only a 15 amp fuse for the o2 sensor but by bog I mean at about half throttle it feels like it loses fuel and goes from 2500rpm to like 1800 then clunks like once or twice and it kicks up to around 3000 then drives normal but thanks for the reply I have to check out everything else when I get more time with it on the lift

If your normal" stuff is good, (plugs, cap rotor wires), you might suspect the TPS. So "clunk",,,it goes a little neutral, then catches...."seeks", can't quite make up it's mind. Maybe the TPS.
