Brakes, Adjust
Are your rear drums adjusted outward enough. A lot of your pedal travel can be used up just to get the rear pads in contact with the drum. The master cylinder internal rod is staged and the rears have to exert backpressure first before you fronts really start to see the pressure they deserve. Check for your travel on the rears.

Ok, so the problem with my 89. i have a little to no braking power and the pedle is low. We have bled the brakes tons of time's and we have replaced the MC , and both the rear cylinder's and still the same thing. What should i look at next. i know the flex lines are rubber! anyone think they could just be expanding to much and not giving any pressure? I'm seventeen and looking for a job. this is the jeep i learned to drive in year's ago and my dad has givin it to me and i need to fix it . it has been sitting in the yard long enough

[QUOTE=89whiteXJ;694018]I surprised no one has posted this yet. And a little research would have shown you this.
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/xj...-upgrade-3352/[/QUi knew about this, but i was kinda hoping to be able to fix it with out swapping. if i m gona try bleeding with the knew lines again. 9only bled them once since i put the new ones on) and if that dont fix em ill be searching the j/y's for new booster mc

adjust up thrrear brakes the should be gragging just a little bit when you turn the wheels by hand the only way to get a big brake difference is to up grade3 to a dual chamber booster from a grand cherokee take the master cly to from the doner truck and th fitting you will need to make new line from the master to prop valve go on line and look up booster up grade for xj cherokee it make a big difference xjs are very under powered in the bracking area soon as you put bigger tirews on them the brakes cant take it

to check the master for internal by pass start the jeep and apply the brakes keep pressure on it with you foot if the pedal creeps down you master is bypassing if not its ok if the booster is bad the grake pedal will be rock hard my brakes were never very good either i did the upgrade and they are much better even with the 38 inch tires

go on line and research i think its the arm sticking out of back of booster they changed its not a direct bolt on you have to drill the hole bigger and grind a flat spot in the back for brake light switch to operate and make new lines from master to prop valve just type in search xj booster upgrade in search window
