What axles will fit the stock housing that I could use to swap the stock ones with. That would hold up to say 33s and 400+hp with 5" lift

There is just about nothing on an XJ that will take 800 hp. You would have to put in a full cage, stiffen the under belly, at the very least put off road type traction bars on, use a 9' Ford rear end with 40 spline axles, D60 or Ford 9" front. And that is just for starters. This is really not practical. I would not go over 400 hp and expect it to hang together.

you can get away with all stock to start with you just gotta remember
to stay away from to much skinny peddle

then you will need a built TC and at least D44 with aftermarket shafts front and back and new built drive shafts and frame support

Yeah Im not into the 800hp sitting that high in the air probably 400 will be my cutoff The motor itself has the capability of 800hp. So a dana 44 with aftermarket axles would be sufficiant im hitting the junk yard this weekend.

I think a D44 can handle that much power easily. You can swap in a waggy D44 up front but the lug pattern is different.

A waggy i suppose that means a jeep wagoneer. What about the dana 44 that came in the xj cherokees would that be ok. I think I saw one at the local junkyard the other day.
