Default Crazy TPS Sensor

So, i went and bought a new TPS sensor last night to see if that would fix my slightly high idle and keeping the RPMs up about 1500 when i let off the throttle.

So i swapped the old for the new and all of a sudden i have a 2K idle... WTF. So i swapped the old one back in and same thing as it was doing before.

Just being curious, i letf the old one plugged in but DID NOT bolt it back up and, TAADAAA!!! It runs like a champ! How could this be?

Have you scanned for codes before just replacing parts?

Did you check to verify the TPS was defective?

You can check voltage with the ignition on, or resistance with key off. It "sounds" like a wiring issue tho. You have to verify what is actually wrong unless you have deep pockets and just like replacing stuff.
