The vaccume line you are talking about, is it under the battery tray?
which vaccume lines can effect the cruise control?
thanks for your feed back
Think he's probably talking about the small vacuum lines that run along passenger side fenderwell and run down to a vacuum storage tank in your front bumper on the passenger side. Have seen several people say these lines have a tendency to wear. Sounds like a lot of owners relocate the little tank somewhere in engine bay or just bypass/remove it.

Hope this helps!!!

AGAIN, GOOD LUCK!!!

Just thought I would mention it just in case.

I have an 89 and the cruise don't work. Do the yellow boxes go bad?

Default Finially Fixed!!!

Well this thread has been dead for well over a year now, and so has my cruise control..about a week ago I decided to go down to the JY and pull a cruise control servo off of another XJ.. i bought a warranty just in case that one was broken too, or if it wasn't my solution... to my surprise i slapped that baby on my jeep and sure as **** my cruise control works like a charm now. Ive had it on for over a week now, and abuse the crap out of it anytime I am doing over 35. Hasn't failed me yet! (knock on wood)
hope this helps anyone with a cruise control problem similar to my old one!
good luck!

I was hoping you'd have found a simple, cheaper fix. I visited my JY yesterday looking for a CC module, and someone had yanked it already. Well, guess I have to keep my eyes peeled.

It honestly took me about 10 JY trips to finially find an XJ with the same servo that mine has! I paid $26 with the 30 day warranty and it was worth every penny!
good luck with your search. keep us updated on the fix!
