Default crusie control from auto parts jeep into manual daily driver

hey guys and gals, I've been googling around but it seems I might be in uncharted territory. I've got a parts jeep and its a 2000 auto 4x4 xj, it has cruise control. I would like to swap the cc into my 98 manual 4x4 daily driver. does anyone know if this is possible or have links to someone who has done it before? or does anyone have a list of what I need to swap? I was thinking I'd have to pull the steering wheel, clock spring and cc module out of the parts jeep. thanks for any help

I would imagine it would work but the issue is it will not work due to the year difference, iirc 97-98 switches wont work with 99-01 cherokees. and you will need to find a 97 or 98 cherokee with cruise control, As for auto and manual differences i have no idea but i would assume it will work nonetheless.

The cruise function is handled by the engine computer, so you're also looking at reprogramming the engine computer or swapping that out as well.

thanks for the info I figured there might be some software issues between the years. I guess I'll have to go hunting for a 98 with cruise and hopefully some other goodies

I read about this a little while ago you need a switch for your clutch my understanding is if you can find a YJ with a 5-speed and cruise control that's a straight swap

Wouldn't be "legal" probably, but could always put a hand throttle on the shifter like they use for offroad and then you could at least adjust it with your hand instead of your foot. I have a throttle lock on my motorcycle that does the same thing basically.
