Custom bump stops?
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for increasing their front and rear bump stops or if you have done it already. Im lifting the jeep higher and throwin some bigger tires on so i need to increase the bump stops. Thanks in advance

Engine: 4.0 rebuilt w/ bored TB, banks header, upgraded ignition, 3 row rad, high flow h2o pump, 180* t-stat
hockey pucks stacked together work for the front, just drill a hole and bolt em in. as for the back i think you could use some 2"x1" box and make a spacer. or you could trim your fenders and say screw bumpstops...just an idea.

ya im running 31's still so i dont rub at full flex cuz my tires arent big enough lol...my 32's probably will be though...

Thats odd, I'm at 3" of lift and 31's and when I go I rub like a mother. The front especially (disconnected) and even the rear even though I still have the sway attached. I didn't increase my bumpstops when I lifted as I wanted to see if it would rub, needless to say I need longer stops (dont want to trim).

ya i ripped my flares off when i got my new wheels and lift because i didnt install the bumpstops...was going to trim the fenders anyway. and my RE kit got me about 4.5" lift so i shouldnt of ripped em off, but managed to somehow anyway. i got the bumpstops that came with my RE lift if you want em...

i do have trimmed fenders. i just dont want to hit the fender and see whats left of it crinkle like a piece of tin

Bump stops are NOT intended to protect the fenders. their purpose is to prevent bottoming of the shocks and suspension. if you are using BS to prevent fender rub you are severly limiting your flex for the wrong reason.
Hockey pucks for the front work great, compress the axle add enough to keep the shocks from bottoming. In the rear adding a spacer under the stock stop will work fine, amount depends on your lift and flexibility. I have 1x2 rectangle tubing under my stock style (4") extended stop.

i know that its not intended for that. i installed the included bump stops with the original lift i purchase but i am lifting it more so i need to compensate for that by increasing the bump stop thus not allowing the springs and shocks to bottom out and also not crunching my fenders.

I tried the hockey pucks as bump stops on the front coils using RTV blue on my 4.5" rubicon experss kit but the RTV didn't hold. What do you think would be a better adhesive for the job? Or should I drill a hole and use a longer bolt than the original?

dont glue them together, thats just plain stupid. Tanner already told you what to do. Stack them together and run a bolt through them.
