1. Purchase a Clearwater Cylinder head at above link.
2. Try to find a used TUPY 0331 head which is a redesigned head from Mopar once they discovered that the factory 00-01 heads had a casting defect.
Clearwater and Tupy heads are not the same thing, but both are good options.

Safest = Clearwater Head. I've been running one for 8 months with no issue.
Cheaper = Used TUPY. It won't be new like the Clearwater, but it will work. Find one off a 02 or greater TJ or WJ.

yes it will. I have a clearwater head also. When you order it, you will order an 0331 casting head from clearwater. 0331 is the cast number, which has the same exhaust ports and is tapped and threaded for the coil pack as the original 0331. that's why it's called an 0331

Shoot guys, thanks for all the information. Wow I made my profile, posted a question and went into the black hole didn't I? Update: Took me 2 months to get my Cherokee back up and running. During that time....... New cylinder head-bolts-gasket(a reputable middle man sold me one for a cool 400 bucks from god knows where), pullapart intake mani -and intake mani/exhaust gasket (mine broke a chunk off during disassembly), new water pump, new rad, new hoses, new spark plugs, new overflow line and tank (that's what caused all this crap to go down in the first place....), new rear main seal, new oil pan gasket, new oil pump gasket (goes with the territory down there), new breaks, calipers, and lines (why not?), new serp belt, thermostat, temp switch, and I'm probably forgetting 10 other things. All in all cost me about 1600 dollars from start to finish. Driven it 13,000 miles until recently the starter went out. Mopar sent me one that had a crossthreaded upper bolt so now I'm stuck till they can send me a replacement (they need their bad one back first). Bought a 1000 dollar 1995 jeep cherokee 4.0 off of facebook, had an overheat that I've fixed 90 percent but now I have e fan issues after long hard drives. (The new clutch fan can't do it all on it's own) I might have old radiator issues as well not sure yet!!! God it has been a heck of a ride, but now I'm in love with cherokee's and thier motors. Plus I've still spent less (in total *the price I paid for it *the parts *the tools *etc ) on this cherokee than I spend on my wife's van in one years worth of car payments. Anyway, sorry to be gone for so long, I'll stick around longer this time.
