Default Cylinder Head Identification
I have a 1999 Cherokee sport with a 4.l straight 6 cylinder. How can I find out which head casting number it is . Thanks for any information.

So is it safe to assume that all the heads with casting numbers 0331 are aluminium.

They're cast iron but due to a design defect are prone to cracking.

In between cylinder 3 and 4, You can see it with the valve cover on.

The 00-01 used the 0331. The 96-97 used the 0630. The 91-95 used the 7120. And the 87-90 used the 2686.
