What ever dude, You are already gonna be full width might as well DO IT RIGHT.

Each one of them said that they wasted the time and money on the 44 I will learn from there YEARS of experience if I go BIG.

i agree, max tire size is a contributing factor here. i currently have no plan to go above 33's in my xj...so im good with my 30/8.8.

the weight isnt a factor, it is unsprung weight and just adds to your traction. i would say ground clearance becomes a problem when you arent running a very large tire (under 37/38). 44's can be built up very strong, but if you think you will go bigger later...why waste the money? i'd say make a plan and stick with it.
