just for a clearance comparison my buddy has a xj with 44 f/60 r and 35" tires and he has 9 5/8" from the ground to the bottom of his rear diff im runnin a xj d44 rear on 33's and i have 10 1/8" from the ground so i have a 1/2" more clearance with 2" smaller tires so i would say 37's would be the smallest you wanna go with those big ole honkin axles hope that helps some

No no no, you need rockwell's. lol
It funny this tread has went from d60 to 14b to Sterling and yes, now i'm taking it to 2.5 tons
In all seriousness, i beat on my old XJ with 35's on stock axles. I blew the front axle from the gears commoning unmeshed. bought a JY one, added a truss and kept on going. Unless your doing rock crawling with 38+ tires, whats the point of anything bigger than an 8.8?

Because you already mentioned to him about looking at a junkyard!!!!! So again I say... I was giving another option... forums give options... the OP desides which one is best for him... just because someone gives an option and states a fact and YOU would do something different doesn't make it wrong... again this forum in not built or intended to go by only what YOU say... u can have your opinion... I really don't care... but I'm gonna voice mine as well... if you don't like it pack up and move the hell on...
