Default Dash light/ Tail light not working when headlights are on

So I just replaced my headlight switch because my headlights wouldn’t turn on nor would my dash lights or my taillights. Now the headlights turn on, but my dash lights and tail lights won’t. I know when my headlights switch went out my dash lights still worked, but I pulled out my **** and it pulled straight out and a bunch of sparks flew, I think a fuse may have blew. But the issue with that theory is the dash lights work if you have the **** just barely pulled out and the tail lights work too. Any clue as to what’s going on?

Really have no idea but having been through a headlight switch session recently have a couple thoughts;
1) if the taillights and dash work if you pull out the switch a little I suspect the switch.
2) there are some really terrible aftermarket switches out there
3) need to be careful your switch is for your model year.
4)not clear from your post when the sparks happened but you need to disconnect the battery when you work on any of this stuff or you might let the smoke out. You may have but just mentioning it . No telling what got fried when the sparks happened
5) check the wiring/connector. It could have gotten fried when the original switch failed
6) get a headlight relay harness

So the same thing was happening with the old switch. If it was pulled out a little the dash lights would work. And the sparks were from when it failed. I pulled the **** out of the switch by accident trying to turn my headlights on and sparks flew.

I'm having issues with my taillight and my dash lights. I got a tester and I put it on the ground cable and stuck it to the positive and no light came on. Sorry I'm not able to help but I'm going to keep looking

Are you saying that the dash & tail lights come on with the switch pulled out to the first position, as they should, but go out when you pull the switch out the 2nd for headlights?

You specifically mention dash & tail lights, what about position/parking lights, front sidemarkers & tag lights?

I got that fixed.simply by a blown tail light. But I have another question for you. I have the number 21 fuse not working and it's says cluster 1993 security alarm module and lamp outage module..how do i get that working?

Wish I could help, but once we're into modules I'm lost - I mean I don't even know what a "lamp outage module" is. Just out of curiosity though, what doesn't work? I'm guessing the alarm.

There is only one way really. Download the free FSM and look at the circuit diagram.

Yes, yes, I know, people dont want to
