In dash throttle screw
Has anyone tried installing one to gain a small amount of throttle during off road?
I thought of a choke cable but I think a screw **** would work better.

Industrial or light aircraft parts suppliers can also supply you with "vernier" control cables - they allow fine control of a remote mechanism (like choke or throttle) by turning the ****. The better ones have a button as the front of the **** - slap the **** is to return to "zero" condition.
Use a flexible coupling of some variety (a few inches of chain, usually) to attach the control cable end to the throttle linkage - that will allow normal operation and the ability to override the cable if you need to.
The three-speed bicycle shifter is a good idea (you can give five- or six-speed cables as well,) but it may limit you with detent settings. Also, the pull **** of the vernier controller can be seleted to make the installation look like it came from the factory (which I'm big on.)

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Save me time.

I will likely do this.
start with a standard choke/throttle cable with a removable ****. Extend the threads for the **** far enough down the shaft to allow the **** to screw down to the bezel. put a fiber washer between the **** and the bezel to prevent binding. Drill the **** out and/or shorten the shaft to allow the clearance for adjustment.
