Dead Engine
I have a 2000 cherokee with the IL 4.0, I threw a rod on New Years eve and now I'm getting ready to change the engine. I might be getting an engine from a 96 cherokee. I know Ill have to change over the head, intake and exhaust manifolds, My question is what else will I have to transfer over from the blown engine?
Also what should I replace, gaskets and things like that?

if you can keep the head from the 96 and zip tie your coils, you'd be getting an even better deal. as a matter of fact, u might be able to take both heads to a machine shop and get them to drill and tap the coil mounting holes for u on the 96 head.
and yeah, i would change the head gasket. cheap security.
have a torque wrench and a service manual handy.
