"the track bar was ordered right when I got home."

Why didn't you put it in the air first? If it's the control arm bushings or anything else, that expensive track bar won't fix it.

Get one that I mentioned above if you need a new one. Or one from Clayton or Rockkrawler

Hey I have read a lot of your posts and comments and you sound really educated when it comes to lifts and suspensions. I just ordered a 4.5 inch rough country lift (I understand they aren't the best) for my 2000 xj. We installed it and of course I get a horrible death wobble. Going over 35 when you hit a bump the death wobble begins. Everything is tight and all the bushings are brand new on pretty much everything because it all came in the kit. I really want to solve it and have tried a lot, put more toe, add more caster, tighten everything extremely tight, new steering box(needed one anyway). And what I came to so far is maybe I need a different trac bar or trac bar set up. The very top bolt for my trac bar with the rubber thing on that has a castle nut has play in it. goes up and down when you turn the wheel. I was looking at http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/cart/ha...wobble-p-1017/ to purchase because someone told me that fixed theres. I was thinking of http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XSP to help me because I already have a brand new trac bar. I would love some help. I want to drive this thing on the highway to go places and travel but if I cant fix this I will unfortunately put a heavy steering stableizer and just mask it, I really don't want to but I have been trying to fix this for weeks.

installed the new track bar from Kevin's Off Road. I have some issues with their service as I had to wait 3 weeks for delivery and all the parts were simply just thrown into a box with no instructions or any discerning packaging for the upgraded bushings. the product is superior but I probably won't order from them again.

death wobble seems cured however I still have steering vibration. I ordered a tie rod assembly from currie and installed sway bar bushings. the tie rod assembly will be installed soon. it's hard to wrench on the jeep while working 70+ hours a week.

Their track bar is likely subpar at best. Have you gone over that list with a fine tooth comb?

I know how that is. Yeah sorry I just realized I never replied to the above post. I would have recommended IRO but I guess Kevin's isn't too bad of quality compared to others. Glad to hear that helped your DW though!

How are your tires? Balanced? How old are they?

tires are last on my list prior to winter. I'm running 31" bf Goodrich all-terrains. I'm on my second set of them and have never had a flat so I'll swear by these except I have a rear tire wearing faster than my other three. it's odd... the tires have been rotated and this one particular tire is just wearing faster.
to answer your question, my tires are worn and I need new but I'm waiting to install all this other crap before I buy new ones.

Well it sounds like you need new ones honestly. At the very least, take your XJ in and have a shop verify your wheels are balanced

If you're not locked in the back one tire will wear faster. On mine it was the passenger one.
