Default Death Wobble Thread

So after a loong time dealing with death wobble I'm finally making a thread about it here so we can all work on this together! Basically I've had the wobble since I bought my 1993 xj a couple years ago. I've tried most of the common solutions to no avail (list below). But there are quite a few things left.

things to note:
Everything under the car seems pretty tight. I'll give it another real good check this afternoon. One of the holes on the steering box is kinda stripped but it seems to bolt up really tight. It's just reallyx3 hard to twist that bolt in to place.

If I jack up the car and set it back down the death wobble almost vanishes for a while, allowing me to drive 65+mph until I hit a large bump or a series of bumps and I start wobbling. My max speed is then reduced to 45 once again and any speed over that I will wobble.

I'm also wondering if the steering shaft could possibly be a contributor. It does have alot of play and it pops and cracks when I turn

The suspension on my car is horrible and the sway bar is completely useless as it is. I'm literally bouncing all over the road and half the time that's what sets off a wobble but I know that shouldn't be the cause. But this car has such rediculously bad handling I thought I should still mention it. Really feels like alot of flexing and turning in between front and rear wheels
my biggest fear is that there is a hogged out hole somewhere or a crack in the frame that I haven't found yet.

Repairs/replacements made to vehicle:
Track barDrag linkPitman armDurango boxBall jointsU joint driver sideWheel hub driver sideAlignmentNew tired/balancedAnything I replaced was because I was either broken or completely worn out and the alignment was way off.

Id love any and all input!

Shake it down, replace anything that moves. If nothing else moves, replace the control arm bushings.

If you haven't heard, you can drive without a steering damper and not have death wobble.

One way is to leave it on the ground and have someone move the steering left to right while inspecting every suspension and steering related joint. Don't rule out parts you have replaced. I've replaced my track bar, then replaced its bush, and it's worn out again. Speaking of track bar, the hole in the axle where it bolts through is known to oval out sometimes. I'm in the process of having a custom collar made to allow a larger diameter bolt to be used and the oval drilled back to a circle.

Upper and lower Control arm bushings should be checked for ware. Heavy duty Moog bushings are worth it - it's a it's a big job to replace the uppers

I have the same issue, I do have a spare bush from Rock Auto, but I cant see where they have the option for a poly bush ?

does such a poly bush exist ?

my vehicle did initially have some steering shake, but is still very good atm, but the bush is to too flexy for my liking

I replaced a few front suspension items

I got the Moog ones and are now ovaled again. At the bottom are 2 "high performance" ones that do list as poly bushes although I have no experience with them.

The Moog ones certainly are not rubber bushes and the centre sleeve for the bolt is larger diameter than the stock bolt. I had to wedge a steel strip in to tighten the gap which may have contributed to some play causing it to wear out the bush.

Odd to hear a problem with Moog - Though I do only recommend their HD "problem solvers", MOOG-K3162 FOR MY STOCK UPPER CONTROL ARMS (BOTTOMS ARE RUBICON EXPRESS) , THEY ARE MADE OF RUBBER NOT POLY AND I'VE BEEN POUNDING THESE BUSHINGS FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS ON ROCKY TRAILS . BTW, THEY LIST THE INSIDE DIAMATOR AS .39" FOR THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS.
