Flintstone's approach might be to cut out the dent and weld a more suitable piece in it's place. (the material permitting)
I meant just the dent, it's self. Leave the OK part of the pipe.

The crush on the Renix is longer that your dent.
Here's some photos of a Renix downpipe made by the muffler shop. Any good muffler guy will know what to do. Change the angles so the driveshaft won't hit it and tuck the pipe closer to the engine/trans.

yeah that's what I figured with the flex pipe but Justin thought I'd shoot the idea out there.... just don't want to run new pipe if it will get dented again like that. plan on doing the work myself....how could this be fixed by the DIY exhaust job. can I buy pipe thatwould work to reroute this section or is my only option to take it to a shop?

To clarify:
If you have a 3" lift or more, you CAN route it in the stock location.
If stock height, you must reroute it. I just have all of mine built rerouted anyway.

yeah I would like to but I don't have the money to lift at the moment. reroute is the best answer for this. don't get a clear answer what it's there for anywhere you look

I already stated what it's there for. Right from a guy at Jeep engineering.
