Valve cover gasket, oil pressure sending unit, oil filter adapter seals and distributor gasket, in that order, have to be eliminated as possibilities first.

Clean it and run it. Check for leaks.

Have already done the v/c gasket. Do you have any pics or diagrams of the other components I'm learning this 4.0 one piece at a time.

No pics. Oil sender is above the oil filter. Oil filter adapter is between the oil filter and the block. Distributor gasket is under the distributor.

Clean it, run it and see. It's not rocket science.
