Default dies when i hit the gas and sputer the will run fine

i replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs and distributor cap and rotor and cleaned the idel control sensor and chaned the tps is ther a relay or some thing that will cause it to do this owh i took the roll over canester off and the alternator was bad so i changed it and now i get this can any body help me befor i burn this thing to the ground #813-313-8836 any help would be nice i have a 1993 parts jeep with a good motor 80,000 miles on it can i use it in my 90

Default About the stalling

When it does this, does it happen when accelerating from 0 up, and when it bogs out, does it start to backfire out of the throttle body, and when that happens, when you mash the pedal it dies or regains normal driving conditions. And after you restart it, it drives normal, until it does it again.

yes when it dies and bogs and sputters it will do it till i hold it to the floor it will drive down the road normal till i stop again then it will do it again i have another motor with 80,000 miles on it can i use the hole thing or just the block some body give me a call or pm me please jeep's going to die i am new to jeep but loven it

When's the last time you put heat dry gas in it. I was having a similar problem, and my local parts guy recommended a bottle of heat. I have run a tank through with it. My jeep is now running better than it has in a while. For a couple of bucks it's worth a try.

What kind of spark plugs did you use? Please don't say Bousch Platium

auto lites is what the parts stor said it called for i have ran lucus through it and did a complete tune up on it and still nothing can it bee a weak fuel pump if i hit the gas soft it wont do it till i stab the gas then it dies and when i crank it it ides around 2500 rpm might be selling it and giting a nother with 4x4 a 4.0 5 speed mine s auto

Default my jeep is doing same thing

my jeep is doing the same thing, pain in the A$$ i replaced fuel pump and fuel regulator, fuel filter, tested all injector ohm's, and checked spark, cap and rotor, and sea foamed the heck out of it. and still can not figure out. This problem has just got worse, it will start, but as soon as i give it gas it bogs right out and dies, before this happened it did everything yours was. does any one know what this may be? engine is a 96 4.0l runs great when it runs.

Do you have an aftermarket or modified air intake? If you are using a cone style air filter, and you push it too far up the pipe so that it blocks the end of the pipe. When you step on the gas, the back-pressure can cause the rubber air intake elbow that mounts to the intake to actually get sucked down to cover the intake. This will cause the symptoms you are explaining here, and it is a ***** to diagnose.

If you are using a cone style air filter, pop it off and go for a ride to see if the problem goes away.

o2 sensor seems plausible, previous owner of my jeep removed the cat and o2 sensor with it, my jeep will sputter every now and then when its cold. don't have the money to replace it yet... not fixing it until i have enough to splurge for a flowmaster and new exhaust pipe from the header back.

I just replaced the TPS.... that was not it, for some reason when i unhook the coolant temp sensor it seems to start and idle like crap then if i give it gas it bogs out and just dies now.... its not throwing a light either just f.y.i.

Angry HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my engine blew i replaced my 95 cherokee with a 96 motor and kept the original intake manifold and all pieces on it re-bolted everything still, i replaced everything i needed to it was running, new fuel pump, filter, regulator, re-did the timing, cap, rotor ignition coil, TPS,CPS, MAP, CTS both coolant sensors, its throwing many codes now, has the right orginal ECU, if it turns on at an idle if you give it any gas it bogs out and dies, has correct and great fuel pressure. i looked at the intake manifold that came off the 96 motor, and is alot of diffrent things going on... need help, for instance on the 96 motor there is no fuel regulator or return line on the fuel rail like the 95 has..... could this be the reason for my problem? maybe its fuel like i thought all along? but what is it ?

Wow bad day?
It might have something to do with the fuel regulator or return line
but reset the computer, then start her up and you might have to reteach her how to idle by using your foot for 5 minutes. After that let her idle by herself for 5 minutes then try to driver her.
