How much fluid would you guys put down the plug holes and into the cylinders to free up the rings? I poured almost a liter down one of the plug holes because I read elsewhere that you should fill until you see the fluid flowing back out... Now I'm worried that was way too much.

On the other thread you guys had comments within the same minute, so clearly great minds think alike and were writing the same thing at the same time.

I would crank it over a couple times with oil in the cylinders and no spark plug in the motor . that would help loosen the rings . when you get ready to try to start the engine crank it over with no spark plugs in it to blow out most of the oil when it looks like it stopped blowing out oil you can put the spark plugs back in and see if it will start if it does start it will smoke a lot until all the oil that got in the exhaust burns out .

Hey guys. I had a mechanic take a look at it earlier in the week. He found metal chunks in a few of the cylinders - probably from a past collision. Whatever the issue is with the blow by, I'd need a full engine rebuild or a replacement according to him, which I don't have the money or skills for. Too bad because everything else in the car is in good shape. Will be selling it.
Thanks all for your help and advice! Appreciate it.
