Default Do I need a special adapter to install a 1/2" offset ball joint??

Alignment shop told me I it was time for new ball joints and said I should order a 1/2" offset joint for the passenger side. It's not clear to me if I will need a special adapter for that 1/2" offset Ball Joint? Anyone know that answer? Also, any recommendations for ball joint press kits would be great. Should I trust the lender kit from O Reilly or should I buy something nicer? Hoping to avoid a struggle. Also, is it dumb to only do the uppers? Shop said lowers are fine. Thanks!

I would do upper and lower. I needed the adapter kit when I did mine, so I would assume you will as well. It's not a terrible job, but it's not the most fun job I have done either.

I made the adaptor piece by slicing some 2" thick walled pipe at an angle. You do need something

As awg said you can make one, (I had years ago and could not find it) the neighbor had this kit and it worked very well and isn't very expensive.

Amazon Amazon

You will need to make one or buy one, or you will turn a not too terrible job into a nightmare. Either way you will still need a ball joint press, the Maddox from the Freight is not horrible, I've had mine for quite sometime and have used it for many things (lots of things it wasn't intended for) and its still going.
