Does this seem sketchy
I was looking for some shift solenoids, for in case my shift problem persists after I drain and fill the transmission fluid a few times. Just want to know if you think it’s a good deal, or should I pass. More of a I’m on the market just in case. 97 Jeep xj 4.0 sport aw4

Not that I know first hand one or way the other but I have read
that the solenoids from Ebay work just fine.
Which I always thought was kinda weird considering the don't use anything but Mopar sensors way of thinking.
Which I agree with.
Hopefully guys who have actually done this will chime in with some first hand info.

I haven't used any aftermarket shift solenoids but I have swapped one from a 98 xj tranny over to a 01 tranny with no issues.
What's your shift problem? If you think one or more solenoids are bad, you can unplug the transmission control unit underneath the dash on the driver's side and probe the wires in the connector to read resistance. This way you don't have to go through the hassle of dropping the pan. Check post #5 by CCKen on this thread.

I can confirm what Ralph's saying re: ebay solenoids. I'm a stick shift guy so I have zero personal experience, but I've seen a number of folks on this forum that have reported the ebay solenoids have worked for them.
Also, anything from CCKen is Jeep gold - the guy is/was legendary.
