Its doesnt sound like it won't work, Cherokee 4.0, Six-pack is saying that he doesnt need it currently with his 5' lift,

I reread that as well and it made more sense the second time through sorry working with little to no sleep, new baby almost 16 hours old

i hear people say you need a SYE after 4 or 5 inches of lift but my neighbor is running like 9 inches of lift and 35"s with no SYE. we clearanced his front yoke a bit and i think he has a 1" tcase drop, nothing else.

ill try to get some pics tomorrow.

alright heres what i did......i bought a hack n tap and installed it. got a front cherokee driveshaftfrom the junkyard. got a spicer part #211229x. i found that a 1987 ford t-bird had this stock in its cv so i got one from the junk yard. this is the adapter flange that will replace part of the cv so it will bolt to the hack n tap. (google it so you can see pics if you need a beeter idea of what it is)

rebuilt the cv installing the new flange. got my driveshaft lengthened because i have an extended wheelbase. dont know if you will have to do this with stock wheelbase. and there you have it.

cost

hack n tap $99
driveshaft $15
adapter flange $25 had to buy the whole shaft and they were proud
driveshaft length $50
u-joints $40
total without driveshaft lenghten $179
total $229 plus or minus a couple bucks pretty fn cheap!!!!

thats what i got on mine, no problems so far. When i ordered mine from PORC, they sent me thier house brand AND a Advance Adapters SYE by mistake. I compared both of them side by side, I couldnt tell a differece between them, so I kept the PORC one and sent the AA one back.

The PORC one is an overseas made unit (it's a rebadged OMIX ADA SYE). The AA ones are made state side.
