I found $35 for the kit at the steeler

no offense man, but doesn't your door not falling off rate a little higher than lift and tires? I mean it's only 35 bucks

this is a superior unit to the picture posted of the cheap arc welder. the lincoln ac225 is a good cheap as hell arc welder. they sell between 100 and 150 used with nearly new ones going for 150.

another option is the harbor freight flux core units which are okay if you want a sub $100 welder and a wire feed. that said i would still rather have a lincoln 225. with the right rods you can weld quite a bit. the only drawback is they require a 50a 240v plug in. you can run them on a 30a dryer plug up to around 3/4 for short bursts if you don't want to wire a new plug

personally i have a lincoln 140 mig with argon/co2 for steel and trimix for stainless. home depot and lowes have the 140s for $524 with gauges. it's the same unit as the commercial 140 which is $699 except it has steped settings versus the continually variable setting of the pro model. it's also a 110v which makes using it anywhere wonderful. only drawback is i'm limited to 1/8th to 3/16th tops running gas and 1/4" with flux core. my thinking was...how often am i welding over 1/4" almost never. lincoln claims it can do 5/16th on flux but that's awful optimistic. i suppose if you went really slow it's possible

Default hinge fix

I'm still trying to find where I got my hinge kit. I actually googled it and got it from a place in Tampa. You should be able to get it from a dealer, but they may have to special order it. it should be between 30 and 40 bucks. I don't have a welder, nor have I ever welded anything, so this bolt on unit works great! It's not a new hinge, but a piece that bolts over your hinge to hold it on the frame. It's set not to interfere with anything on the door. Fouynd my order. Got it from WWW.MOPARONLINEPARTS.COM. Part was $27-shipping 13

Can you please post the link to the site where you ordered this kit online? I've searched every way I can think of and checeked every parts site I can find, and no one seems to have it.

Sorry, didn't rad down far enough the first time. THanks for posting the link. But I just went to the site and they don't seem to have the part either. At least it doesn't come up in a part # search and I can't find it searching through their catalog. Any suggestions on how I can find it?

Hey man... not sure on the answer to that question. My hinge actually wound up completely separating so I took it to a local shop around here called OFAB. Just asked a guy there if they would fix it, luckily it was the shop foreman. He took me around to see one of the welders who said he could do it no problem for no charge. I took the door off at home, took the hinge off the door and drove it to the shop. He prepped it, welded it up, and I gave him 20 bucks 'cause honestly I felt like that was the least I could do.

Just go talk to your local fab shop... even if they don't do it for free, they probably won't charge much and then it will be a better fix than the chrysler TSB fix.
