Default door lock issues revisited

I have tried searching "lock, door locks, power locks, ect.". I get a bunch of random posts so I thought I would start a new thread.

2 xj's 2 separate issues

issue 1
found a barn find 1998 xj in Virginia with only 12k on the ticker. After doing some preventative maintenance for the road trip home. I jumped on the freeway to Florida and within 5 miles the window fell inside the door. Regulator broke. I don't think this has anything to do with my lock issue but I'm not ruling it out yet either as the locks worked fine prior to this, it's how I noticed it. stopped at the nearest auto parts place and changed out the regulator. upon re-installing the door panel I noticed that the lock rocker wasn't moving it's full range when I hit the button and the door wouldn't lock. I figured I bent the rod inside so I went to my local pick a part and got 2 sets (just in case). After trying both rods the rocker still wont move to the lock position. I thought I might have the rods in a bind or routed incorrectly so I took out the door latch rod. Still no lock. So just for ****s and giggles I took both rods out and hit the lock button. STILL NO LOCK. I hear it clicking and feel it moving on the solenoid. I'm now at a total loss. I know xj's have notorious lock and window issues. I just didn't think this unmolested 12k jeep would have them this early.
Any thoughts on this would be a huge help.

Issue #2
1999 xj 180k. windows work, locks don't. no click, nothing. But since the windows work, in my mind that eliminates fuses 15, 18 and 28 as the issue.
checked all connections, have had the harness out of the doors, pulled all the old wrapping and inspected, then retaped. changed the master switch on the drivers door to a known good one. Still nothing. But it did solve my child lock switch issues. Changed the window regulator in the drivers door and now the lock rocker is bound tight. similar to the passenger door in issue 1.
Notice the common denominator? Please help.

An unused Jeep will atrophy just as an unused limb. I'm gonna trademark that. Grease gets stiff, lubricants stop lubricating, bits stick together. I'm not even a tiny bit familiar with the fancy new XJs so can't offer you any information of value. Someone will, though.

Having the same issue with my 1999 xj sport. Took the door panels off to replace the speakers and a window regulator and now both looks seem frozen. I've tried trouble shooting this to no avail. Hopefully someone will have some insight for both of us.
