Door window problems
Hello agian, so my 1996 xj has crank windows and the driver side crank is broken. When i want it to go up i have to crank it and push the door up but when i want it to go down it goes down fine. When going up it sounds like gears are grinding. I already took the door panel off and the black cover and i was wondering how to take the crank system out so i can see the problem. Are there any ways how?

Okay so i figured out how to take it out but now i need to find the peice connected to the actual crank, like behind that. Anyone have any ideas where i can find one?

The cable may cleaned up and regreased. I believe 96 and older used rivets to hold the regulator to the door, power and manual. Here is an old thread i found. Its for power windows, but should still prove useful.

You might need the entire regulator for that. Pretty sure thats riveted together. Never took one apart myself.
