Doesn't look like the giant 7" filter would fit on there. I forgot that OBD-I XJs had the OFA pointing up at a weird angle like that.
Got both of them from O'Reilly's:

Wix #51515..........$6.29

Wix #51452..........$11.99

Weird, that's close to what I pay up here for the same stuff at NAPA (~$7 for 51515, ~$14 for 51459). Give them a call and ask about the same P/N, just knock the 5 off the front and call it a "NAPA Gold" filter.

Yes, yes I got it...

Later setup seems to be more tolerant of ABDV failures, and I imagine it puts less resistance on the oil pump, too. But I'm glad your unreliable junk is so excited, sort of like that dog that embarrasses you whenever friends come over.

Lmao. How hard is it to get that oil filter off when it's horizontal?

A bit of a further reach since grabbing the top is like grabbing the bottom but it's fine to take off. Makes less of a mess this way, and you can fill it about halfway before spinning a new one on without dumping all the oil out.

In the middle of the night when only Radi posts I sometimes get messages from cruiser5.4. They're mostly incoherent but http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/land...ateforanimals/ has been helping me out.

You should give it a try. He's got some fascinating insight on effective methods to reduce parasitic loss through the drivetrain. That or he pissed on your stroker, I'm not quite sure.
