Default Driver and Passenger Door Wiring Harness

Does anyone have a drivers and passenger side door wiring harness diagram?

I fixed the broken wires in both doors once and installed a jumper to override the child safety door lock but my locks and windows are still intermitted. I called the stealership and they want $410.00 for the drivers side harness.

This may sound redundant, but have you checked the rubber grommets that lead from the door to the chassis? I noticed in my Jeep that they were not in their "locked" position and a few wires had been rubbed to the point where the insulation was showing through and was shorting out the lock and was intermittent.

Also, you will notice that there are 5 wires that go to the power window, and 5 to the lock on the passenger side. for each, 2 are for up/down or lock/unlock to be controlled from the passenger side, another set of 2 to be controlled form the driver side, and 1 ground for each. Mine are yellow, and they are mounted somewhere inside the door. Sometimes, intermittent operation can be a faulty ground, that is not tightly secured. You may have to open the inside of the door to see.

Hope that helps!

Today I finally had it. I took out the driver side wiring harness. I sat down with a spool of wire and replaced all the wires. I reinstalled the harness and now every button works. YAY!!!

It took 40+ shrink wrap crimps, 40' of wire and a whole roll of electrical tape.

That's the only way to fix it.

Darn! I have a 97 ZJ. The power windows, locks, and mirror do not work on the pass side. I just replaced the fat black ant tan wire, (ground and power) wires from the drivers door switch to the inside drivers kick panel thinking those wires are busted from opening and closing the door. Still not working. The tan wire has 9 v at the pass door and the ground is good at the pass door. Any clues? I am broke, need to fix it myself.

When you replace the wires, are you able to disconnect them from the pins of the plugs by uncrimping or unsoldering and replace each wire entirely or do you just cut out the fatigued portion and install a new section in each wire of the harness?

Alright, I have a 2000 cherokee classic with a similar window problem. Initially none of the power windows worked off there own switch, just the master, so from previous experience with my 94 grand Cherokee I bypassed the window lock switch and that did it. Every window now works off there own switch EXCEPT the front passenger which only goes down on its own switch but not down and does nothing off the master. Now I have replaced both the master and passenger switches and tested the motor by hooking it up to my battery and it goes up and down just fine. Now the lock button on the passenger side works but it lags which is odd. So my question is I know its clearly a wire somewhere. I want to replace all the wires in the harness thinking that's probably my issue would I have to replace the drivers side harness or the passenger side harness?

the haynes book seems to show gauge numbers.
i used 16.
you can fish some wires thru with a stiff piece of wire and solder them close to the connectors. if just a few. dont need to pull the harness, wow! big job the guy did..
the book was good for color code for my 00.

Got mine at a junkyard for I think $18 each side - totally fixed my power lock issues! Really wasn't that hard to swap out, go ahead and double-wrap the wires going through the door (I used electrical tape but would have used Gorilla tape if I had it on hand)
