Driver side electric window will roll down and up fine with no issues but once it's rolled all the way up to the top it will start grinding and act like it want to keep rolling up. Are the teeth on the actual motor shot? What all do I need to replace for the guru's that's had this issue?

 

Mine does that as well as going down. Haven't had time to look into it yet. Hopefully someone will post a solution as usual

I have the same problem going up and down on my drivers front window.

Looks like replacement regulator assemblies aren't hard to come by and are easy to install.

The Dorman 741-768 looks like the right part number for driver front but reviews say it's slow and doesn't last.
The ACDelco 11A113 appears to be a better unit and only $10 or so more on Amazon.

I'm going to order one and see how it goes.

 

My best guess would be the gears are stripped or worn down to the point where they may mesh, but with enough strain they jump teeth. But thats just a guess.
